Xavier's Results for the 68th District:
During his time as Vice-Chair of Community Board 11, he led a resolution calling for a moratorium for NO new additional drug treatment centers.
Called for accountability of OnPoint NYC and and DOHMH (Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene) with the placement of the OPC (Overdose Prevention Center).
Passed letters of support for the last state budget with medicare/medicaid reimbursement.
Created better relationships between healthcare providers and the constituency.
Pushed for accountability using data driven metrics with treatment facilities.
Xavier's Commitments in the Assembly:
Author legislation that creates paid family leave, universal childcare so that the family unit may be preserved during the earliest days of a child's life.
Push for legislation that will discontinue programs that are unsuccessful with the treatment of narcotics patients.
Push for legislation that stops discrimination of medicare/medicaid recipients.
Push for legislation that restricts the placement of drug treatment facilities near schools and houses of worship.
Push for funding of new long term mental health facilities with proven track records for reintegration.
